Shooting for The Scout Guide Sarasota has Finally Begun!
Susan Doane, editor of The Scout Guide, has hired me to be the exclusive photographer for this project. TSG is a publication that features the best of what a city has to offer. It's fresh and stylized, with a polished layout and elegant graphics.
The concept has been branded as a chic city guide featuring premier, independently-owned businesses. By highlighting their creativity and originality, the result is a narrative of beautiful, playful, engaging photographs celebrating the important contributions to our community. To date, there are 42 cities in the U.S. that have The Scout Guide with editors unique to each, and Sarasota is the latest to have one.
It was exciting to start the first shoot for TSG with Marmalade Salon & Boutique owners, Jenna DiLorenzo and Nicky Marie. Here are a few sneek peeks - only a few images can be shown that were captured during the set-up of the shoot. The main image for their ad will have to wait until TSG debuts in January.
Billy Elkins (who assisted me by taking extra "behind the scene" pictures and some fun video) and I arrived at 6:30 a.m. to begin setting up so the light would be perfect, when it was time to start shooting...

The feeling Nicky and Jenna wanted to achieve was a "flea market explosion" on the sidewalk, which included yarn-bombing the palm tree!

It took almost 2 hours to create the set - the hardest part was getting Nicky's truck "Blue" placed in the perfect spot for a vertical page ad.

As you can see the girls were enjoying themselves and the playful spirit of their personalities and their business came through!
